Madison Bachmayer is a first-generation student and rising sophomore at George Washington University, where she is majoring in finance and minoring in fine art. This summer, she’ll be joining Fairmarkit as an HR Intern. In addition to her interests in AI and cryptocurrency, Madison is a member of the GW D1 Women's Rowing team and the Women in Finance Alliance at GW, where she is VP of events.

Isabella Bertagnolli is a rising senior who is studying computer science at the University of Utah. This summer, she’ll be joining HashiCorp as a software engineering intern working on the cloud platform team. Last summer, she had the opportunity to work at a startup in the Bay Area and is interested in continuing to explore the possibilities in the computer science and startup worlds. Sean Forjan, who graduated from high school in Frankfurt, Germany, is a computer science major at Florida International University. Tierra Gentle is a first-generation college student majoring in human resources management at Arizona State University. Jinghong (David) He is pursuing his master’s degree in applied data science at the University of Chicago. This summer, David will be working as a data analytics intern at Wish. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston College in finance, information systems, and computer science, and he previously worked in the financial services and hospitality industry. Nitant Joshi is a computer science major at Wayne State College. Mori Liu is studying computer science with minors in economics and philosophy at Barnard College at Columbia University. She has previously recruited and led a marketing team at Anonymous Agent Inc. and worked in sales at AvoMD. This summer, Mori is also learning and experimenting with AI/ML at Cornell Tech in New York City. Mori is passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship, and learning new perspectives and aspires to work in VC to make bold ideas into reality. Apart from her professional interests, Mori loves to dance (hip hop) and has performed with Onyx Dance Troupe and Moonlight Dance Crew. She also loves to cook, thrift, take pictures, and cycle.

Savannah Manley is pursuing a dual degree at the University of Michigan in computer science engineering at the College of Engineering and in business administration at the Ross School of Business. Lily Matos is a first-generation college student at Kennesaw State University where she is studying information technology. Besides being a governance, risk, and compliance intern at MongoDB, Lily has led and been involved in student initiatives at her university like the Google student developer club, Rewriting the Code, ColorStack, and Women in Technology. Varun Nair is studying electrical engineering and computer science and has completed his certificate in entrepreneurship and technology at the University of California, Berkeley. He has previously worked as a blockchain engineer, UI/UX designer, business operations lead, and strategy consulting project manager. Henry Sule is an incoming senior at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he is studying finance and computer information systems. This summer, he will be joining the HashiCorp Business Systems team as an analyst intern. As an international student from Nigeria, Henry is particularly interested in leveraging technology to increase the offering and availability of resources for larger sections of the Nigerian population, especially in the realm of financial technology.

Joanna Yang is currently pursuing her master's degree in the communication leadership program at the University of Washington. This summer, Joanna will be joining Yami as a marketing intern for an SEO project, where she hopes to expand her skills in digital marketing and entrepreneurship. After gaining experience as an intern at an international electric vehicle company and working on live-streaming production projects, Joanna has developed a passion for the intersection of technology, marketing, and sustainability. As a first-generation female graduate, she also aspires to establish her own business in the knowledge sharing industry, empowering young girls to pursue higher education and follow their dreams.

Lulu Yao is a junior at Lake Washington Institute of Technology, where she is studying human resources management and serves as president of the SHRM LWtech student chapter. Lulu's previous experiences include serving as an HR intern at an aerospace manufacturing company and working as an HR assistant at a community health center. She also actively participated as a fellow student in the Initiative in Diversity, Equity, Antiracism & Leadership (IDEAL). This summer, Lulu will be joining HashiCorp as a generalist intern on the People team, where she will specialize in immigration and global mobility. Joseph Tyler Buenaventura studied computer science at San Francisco State University and recently graduated in May 2022. He previously was working full time in the IT industry during his junior year while pursuing his degree; however, his passion for software engineering was reignited and his goal is to create impactful projects in order to support the people around him. He is most excited about his internship with Poshmark this summer as well as being able to network with other members of the company and fellowship and build professional and personal connections.

Winnie Chen is studying computer science at Stanford. This summer, she'll be a software engineering intern at K Health where she is excited to take on impactful projects with the talented team. At Stanford, Winnie is involved in open-source contributions through Code the Change as well as projects in web development. Mark Gacoka studies mathematics and computer science at Minerva University. His passions lie at the intersection between artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, specifically Code Property Graphs, a scalable data store for querying and recognizing programming patterns in large codebases. Through this technology, he seeks to design an accurate model for discovering vulnerabilities in source code. He has also received an artificial intelligence scholarship from Deepcore Inc., an incubator under SoftBank. For the summer, he will be joining HashiCorp as a software engineering intern. What excites him the most about the summer program is the ability to learn in a high-paced environment and connect with peers with interests in entrepreneurship and technology.

Tatev Gomtsyan is a rising senior at the University of Virginia, where she is majoring in global public health and minoring in data science. Jeanette Gu is a rising junior at the University of Chicago studying anthropology and economics. Bryce Johnson is an English and media studies major at the University of Virginia. He is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion through programming at U.Va. and interning this summer with Chief, a company supporting women in leadership positions. He’s excited to also continue working for U.Va’s English department, managing its social media accounts. Bryce is an avid reader, with books being part of every facet of his life. This fall, he'll begin researching and writing for a thesis on Jane Austen’s fiction and its relationship to the literary, print, and education cultures contemporary to Austen.

Ethan Lam is a computer science student and head teaching assistant at the University of Toronto. He is passionate about contributing to large-scale software projects and playing music with others. Ethan has won two hackathons, developed automarking software for UofT’s CS department, released two EPs with his band, toured Europe as a choral music singer, and has helped run one of UofT’s largest hackathons. This summer, he’s joining Wish as a software engineering intern. When he’s not coding or playing an instrument, you can find him longboarding the streets of Toronto, kayaking under waterfalls, or eating lots of dumplings.

Max Lau is currently pursuing his master’s in international business at Hult International Business School in San Francisco. By joining StarTree as a marketing intern over the summer, he is excited to complement his knowledge acquired in the classroom with practical experience. Before moving to the U.S., Max obtained his bachelor’s degree in economic sciences in Germany. Alongside his studies, he worked as a freelance media creator and founder of a crowdsourcing-oriented marketing startup. Experiences in Toronto’s vibrant startup and research communities have inspired her with the potential that lies at their intersection. Mark Shchur is a first-generation student studying computer science at the University of California, Davis. Mark has a passion for developing consumer-facing applications for the Apple ecosystem. During his free time, he works on personal side-projects in the iOS space, such as applications that reimagine how easy it should be to use a barcode scanner or how intuitive a workout timer can be. He joins Poshmark as a software engineering intern, working on their iOS app. He is excited to gain insight into the industry, meet new people, and grow as an engineer.

Alessio Simoya studies computer science at the University of Rochester and joins Slice on the strategy and ops team. He previously interned at Koniku and Credit Suisse as a software engineering intern. Alessio is interested in the intersection between fintech and venture capital—especially its application in emerging markets. He is excited to work with and learn from his peers who come from different backgrounds.

Jacob Solano is currently studying finance and marketing with a concentration in entrepreneurship at Rutgers Business School. Since the age of 10, Jacob was involved in entrepreneurship helping his father in the family business however he could. This ultimately was the foundation to ideas that led to his first startup. Jacob now directs LaunchPad, a startup incubator that helps students create and grow innovation. This summer he is thrilled to be at GGV-backed startup BitSight working in sales development. Additionally, Jacob is eager to grow his newest project, N3WDAY, a startup focused on revolutionizing the future of work. Mark Sturman is studying computer science with minor in psychology at Rutgers University. Isaac Ayeyi Turkson is a rising senior at the University of Rochester, where he studies electrical and computer engineering and is a teaching assistant for a digital logic design class. As an African from Ghana, Isaac loves working on software projects that cater to specific problems on his continent and is currently working on an app that customers can use to book and pay for services online. Over the summer, he'll be interning with HashiCorp as a software engineering intern and is excited about working in an actual company setting. During the fellowship program, he looks forward to meeting people of different backgrounds with different perspectives to share on tech innovation and is hoping to learn what it entails to get a software startup to a stage where it can attract funding.

Elisabeth Wing studies cognitive science and design at the University of California, Berkeley. She has previously worked as a UI/UX designer, business operations intern, and strategy consulting project manager. This summer, Elisabeth will be working as a product management intern at Yami, where she's looking forward to learning from and getting to know her colleagues and other fellows. Sidhant (Sid) Bendre studies computer science and math at the University of Rochester where he is also a machine learning researcher (funded by a Google exploreCSR award) at the VISTA Lab (overseen by Professor Jiebo Luo). He also works part-time as a software developer at the Rochester Data Science Consortium developing data-driven, and AI-focused software solutions. This summer, Sid will be a Software Engineering Intern at Slack. Sid is exploring a variety of domains including artificial intelligence & machine learning, quantitative trading, entrepreneurship and venture capital - with a growing interest in the fintech, smart-tech and productivity space.

Nalu is an aspiring engineer studying operations research & information engineering and computer science at Cornell University. Lydia Ma is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania studying finance, business analytics and computer science. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Lydia fell in love with all things tech from a young age. Georgia Messinger is a junior at Harvard University studying psychology and computer science. Georgia founded two startups of her own—Trill Project, a mental health support network, and Girls Get IT, a coding and feminist mentorship program for elementary school students. Saumya Rawat studies computer science at MIT with a focus in machine learning and systems. She is an active participant in the Boston entrepreneurship community and loves working on impactful side projects. She aspires to found her own startup focusing on early disease diagnosis, education, or fintech. This summer she will intern at Peloton.
